Bordering Assam and Bangladesh, it’s a heaven for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Shillong, the capital known as the “Scotland of the East, ” is surrounded by picturesque lakes and lush hills. The state is home to Mawsynram, the wettest place on Earth, and Mawlynnong, India’s cleanest village. Meghalaya is also famed for its exquisite craftsmanship, with intricate wood carvings and weaving from the Khasi and Jaintia districts. Top attractions include Dawki River, Umiam Lake, the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, Elephant Falls, and Cherrapunji, known for its natural beauty and heavy rainfall.

Day 1 - Arrival In Guwahati – Transfer To Kaziranga (D)

  • Embark on a scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Drive through lush tea gardens and countryside roads.

  • Evening at leisure – soak in the calmness of Assam’s wild terrain.
  • Bihu Dance Show: Experience the local culture with a lively Bihu dance performance.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
  • Approx. 7 hrs / 280 km
  • Post breakfast, gear up for an included Jeep Safari through the forest.
  • Drive to Shillong — the Scotland of the East — via scenic highways.
  • Pause at Umiam Lake for photography or a short break.
  • Check in at the hotel in Shillong by evening.

  • Start your day with a hearty breakfast in Shillong.
  • Head to Laitlum Canyon, one of Meghalaya’s most stunning and lesser-explored viewpoints, known as the “End of the Hills” for its breathtaking panoramic vistas of gorges and misty valleys.
  • Continue the scenic drive toward Krang Suri Waterfall, where you can take a dip or simply soak in the beauty of its turquoise waters.
  • By afternoon, reach Shnongpdeng (Dawki), a serene riverside village famed for the crystal-clear Umngot River.
  • Enjoy a peaceful boating experience on the river — the water is so transparent, boats appear to float mid-air.
  • Check into your riverside camps and enjoy a magical evening by the bonfire.

  • Start your day amidst river whispers and forest songs.
  • Head to Mawlynnong — the Cleanest Village in Asia.

  • Drive back to Shillong with optional stops at Elephant Falls or local markets.
